Arch Rock on Mackinaw Island (we climbed 207 steps to get here!)
Today was a beautiful day to drive up to Mackinaw City from our campground nearby. We took a 16 minute ferry ride and toured Mackinaw Island by bicycle. (We're taking 3 days to get to Jake's house in the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan.) We rented bikes and rode around the perimeter of the island - 8.2 miles. It was mostly flat terrain and very relaxing because no cars are allowed on the island - just other bicycles, joggers and the occasional horse-drawn taxis.

The Grand Hotel as seen from the ferry boat on the way to the island
The beauty of the island can really be appreciated on bicycle in the morning
This picture of the Indians shooting beavers for the pelts is kind of creepy
Some information about the native Americans who lived on the island.

My laptop is giving me trouble so that's all the pictures I can upload - due to browser issues ???
