Day 8 of Michigan trip

Went to church with Jake this morning.  It's a very alive and vibrant church with mostly young people!  And Jake and his family go to both services on Sunday and serve in different ways.  Tomorrow morning Vernon is going with Jake to help with construction on a new church plant in Marquette then in the afternoon, its a pressure washing project at his house.

It's been a quiet Sunday.  Mostly cloudy, misty and damp!  But the sun came out this evening.  I took a couple of pictures of our campsite for Ben who will be flying in on Thursday from Harrisburg, PA to Detroit to the Marquette airport to help with Jake's home projects for a few days.  He will be pitching his tent (that we brought along in the truck along with his sleeping bag and sleeping mat) on our campsite.  What an awesome big brother!

Our campsite in Country Village RV Park in Ishpeming -- only a mile and a half from Jake's house!

The swimming pool (and hot tub!) is just behind our camper and the bath house/office beyond that.

About a mile from our campground there is this is a silly/funny, self described redneck museum called "Da Yoopers Tourist Trap" (Yoopers means people who live in the UP.) with lots of whimsical/tongue in cheek sculptures.  This one is a dump truck body made to look like a big wheelbarrow.

A big chainsaw -- lots of logging in this area -- made by the same guy who made "Big Ernie" I think

World's largest working rifle -- read about "Big Ernie" below.  It's mounted on a 1945 International truck.  You can read about the truck below also.

This is a 1957 Buick Special (my first car was a 1967 Buick Special!!  I loved that car.)
"Christine" is not just for show haha :) -- it's used to plow the parking lot of the museum in the winter.

A mine cage with a kibble bucket beside it.  Both were used to lower the miners into the mines.

Big Louie -- the triple snow blower!  The description below sounds like a tall tale to me.

This was carved out of a big tree trunk!

Good Night!
