Day 5 of Michigan trip

This morning Vernon and Jake completed the exterior basement door project.  Then in the afternoon it was to the Children's Museum in Marquette.  Samantha was on tv a couple of days ago being presented with an award, "Outstanding Guardian of the Year" for the Children's Museum!  She volunteers regularly there taking care of the reptiles and holding them (yes, snakes including boa constrictors!) so that the children can come and touch them.

Jake digging the post hole for a post for the door to lean on when opened.

After the concrete forms were removed, Joshua and I used the rubbing stone to smooth out the concrete roughness and then swept off the dust. Joshua is a wonderful helper! --  a very willing learner and worker!

Putting on the hinges and door latch.

Getting the post hole ready to place the post and mix the concrete in it

Matthan taking his turn on the galloping horse at the Children's Museum.  River waiting for his turn.

River (on the left) and Matthan - co-pilots in the cockpit.  It looked like real instruments  - levers, switches and gauges!  I believe they know every inch of this museum -- Emerson takes them here quite often.

The rest of the afternoon was rainy so back to the campground, dinner then out to "Ish's Creamery" for ice cream.
