Day 24 Ark Encounter/Creation Museum to Washington, PA

Thanks Esther for reminding us that the Creation Museum was so close to where we were staying in Frankfort, KY. I'm glad I checked my email before we started off! We changed our route for the day and it only took us an hour to get to the 'Ark Encounter'.  It was only a few minutes off Interstate 75 on our new route to get home and it's working out great!  Thanks to Esther and Google Maps!
The life size replica of Noah's Ark.  The bus brought us here from the huge parking lot and we're getting ready to go inside the ark.  It would take probably 2 or 3 days to really see everything.  But since we only had the morning to take it in, we decided to just go through the Ark.  There is also the Creation Museum which is a 45 minute bus ride from the Ark, so we'll have to see that another time.  Get ready for a sampling of the fascinating trip through Noah's Ark and how the Biblical creation model makes sense:

One end of the Ark
The other end

Some of the many bird cages each with it's own earthenware water dispenser

Large earthenware containers probably held gallons of water for the animals

There were several models of  'dinosaur type' creatures that were 'presumed extinct' by Noah's time.  See the explanation of this strange bird below

How big the Ark was as compared to the Titanic

Large bags of feed
A view up to the 3rd deck

Compare the Biblical creation model (above) with the evolutionary model below:

The following several pictures describe Noah and his calling to build the ark

The Duggars (without most of their '19') cruising through the Ark.  Mrs.  Duggar is a lovely woman.  She was talking with a man and apparently his wife who was in a wheelchair.

I told Vernon that his abilities and skills are similar to Noah's! (except maybe about caring for animals).  Like Noah, he is also a righteous man.

Noah and his family pray as the rains begin.

There was a sign that said that these depictions of the family's living quarters in the Ark used 'artistic license' and imagination since they are not described in the Bible

A
Noah let's the dove out to find dry land

The following several pictures show what effect the flood had on the earth's crust and how the layers of rock we see in cliffs and especially in the Grand Canyon could have been laid down in a series during the flood instead of over millions of years as the evolution theories claim.

The next several pictures talk about the Grand Canyon which we saw a couple of weeks ago!

The next pictures describe a view of some experts about climate change and global warming:

The next pictures are further evidences of the younger age of the earth and fossils and also biblical archeological findings.

It's pretty clear that the overall purpose of this 'Ark Encounter' is to point people to Jesus.  The last of the displays and short videos are very effective, thought provoking information and arguments for the skeptics and unbelievers.  It's very helpful for believers in making a case for our faith.

Day 24:  Frankfort, KY to Washington, PA -- 365 miles

          Tommorow: HOME!

Thank you for taking this trip with Vernon and me.  We have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the beauty of God's creation first hand.  We would love to answer any questions or give pointers about taking a trip like this.  We highly recommend it!
