Kate and Landon picked us up at the Red Cedar RV Camp and took us to their church in Springfield. It was a lovely church and worship service. I think this is the first time I have heard a sermon based on scripture in Habakkuk. A main point was that the Lord is constantly working in our lives even when He seems silent or answers our prayers in a way that we wouldn't want.
Then they took us out for lunch to a Peruvian restaurant. Such wonderful flavors! Springfield has 3 universities and food from several cultures.
Then Kate took us to Dunnegan Park near their home in Bolivar. I was struck by the abundance of birds and other wildlife not only in this park, but in all of what we've seen in Missouri. I can see why this park is one of Kate's favorite places.
Then to Kate and Landon's house to meet 'Sven'.

Glad you got to visit with Kate and Landon. The photo of the field of purple flowers is so pretty! Enjoy your break from heavy travel days. The part of the country you just came thru is where we were trying to avoid tornado paths.
Hi Kate and Landon! Looks like you had nice weather for your Bolivar stop. Kate told me you've invited them for sausage spanish rice in the R/V tomorrow, what fun :) And then "On the road again...." Have you sung that yet?
Hi Lois, -- yes we are enjoying the rest! And we're glad it's not tornado season. Just walked to that purple field this morning. So good to MOVE! It was about 1 1/4 miles from our rv camp. I picked some of the purple weeds and I'll look them up.
Hi Jeff and Jenni,
We are enjoying our time with Kate and Landon. I'll tell them you said hello when they come over tonight. Yes, we have sung that song! We'll sing it again when we tour some Rt 66 roads through Missouri on the way to St. Louis!
Oops, just learned from Kate and Landon that this IS tornado season.
We are so glad you were able to stop through Bolivar! It was so nice to see you and spend some time with you both! Safe travels back to PA! Hopefully we'll see you there soon :)
P.s. the picture of the mint field turned out very well!
Haha it is! But I haven't heard of any storms coming this way, so you should be alright! 😉
Thanks Kate!
