Day 2: visiting in Atmore, AL

Greetings from Atmore,
We're here in Atmore visiting some lovely couples who are friends of Vernon who he hasn't seen in 6 years:  Robert and Anna Glick, Calvin and Mary Jane Schrock, and Jim and Ruthie Weber.  We also toured the home of Calvin and Mary Jane's daughter's (Linette)and son in law, Jake who keep bees that produced 121 gallons of honey last year.

We ate in our car at Dean's Grill last night.  Everyone says 'mam' and  'sir' here.  Refreshing.

Dean's Grill:  When is the last time you saw scripture written on a public building?  Also refreshing.

They use red clay dirt for some back roads here.  We saw some run down neighborhoods.  A lot of poverty in Atmore.

I liked the picture of the red clay road with the upcoming bend, the stark bare trees outlined against and the blue sky and white wispy clouds.
