Heading out early we saw the sun come up on our left since we are driving pretty much straight south.
This picture and the next 5 are taken on the road driving south in beautiful Montana
A woman? flyfishing in the Madison River. We saw quite a few people fishing in boats and in waders. It was a beautiful, warm sunny day! (But very windy to drive!)
Sledding hill??
Grace Fellowship Church in Helena, Montana. We liked the plaque--as an idea for Vernon's workshop projects.
Off the grid??
Yellowstone -- late afternoon
After we set up at the campground, (We're in Idaho) we drove into the park (Wyoming) for a short drive before supper. Saw this elk strolling in the stream.
Also in Yellowstone: This hillside looks to have been burned a few years ago from the looks of the tree trunks, but notice the new green trees growing underneath.
Vernon says that this is 'buck rub' when the elk and deer rub the 'velvet' off their antlers every year. We left the park and ate dinner in West Yellowstone at the Wild West Pizzeria and Saloon! Vernon talked fishing with our neighbor and I watched the Eagles game.
Tomorrow: Exploring Yellowstone!
