Today we closed up the house and stocked the camper -- ready to set off on our cross country trip from Bradenton, Florida to Santa Clara, California where my son, Ben lives with his wife, Katie and my grandson, Owen!! Owen, who is very adorable will be 5 1/2 months old when we get there.
First stop: Atmore, Alabama

I need to brag a little about my talented, skilled husband: Vernon took a shabby, rundown fisherman's shack on the Braden River that we bought in 2012 and transformed it into a lovely home working 10 hours a day, 6 days a week every winter for 4 years. This year he completed the renovations by drywalling, doing the trim work and laying the floor in the addition that he constructed 2 years ago. He also added this second bathroom (see picture above) to the addition.
